Job summary

Harnham is seeking a Data Business Analyst in Amsterdam to bridge business operations and future data capabilities. You will work across data governance, quality, and lineage, driving improved data assets and AI readiness within a global organisation.

You will collaborate with Data Owners, stewards, and tech teams to map processes, define improvements, and deliver governance artefacts such as glossaries and dictionaries.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience in business analysis and data governance.
• Practical understanding of data governance principles, frameworks, and best practices.
• Experience conducting gap analysis, process mapping, and requirements gathering.
• Ability to analyse complex processes, data flows, and business challenges.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and build consensus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Analysing business processes, data flows, and existing documentation to identify data quality and lineage issues.
• Developing and maintaining a Data Issues Register to provide visibility of data challenges and prioritisation opportunities.
• Working closely with Data Owners, Data Stewards, technology teams, and business stakeholders to agree improvement actions.
• Producing clear documentation, process maps, and analysis to support decision-making and governance activities.
• Contributing to key data governance artefacts including business glossaries, data dictionaries, and lineage repositories.
• Supporting the ongoing development of the wider data governance framework.
• Facilitating discussions across diverse stakeholder groups to drive consensus and business value.
