Damen Naval is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to contribute to secure cyber design for frigates and training centers. You will be involved across the project lifecycle, ensuring cybersecurity standards are met and collaborating with IT, OT, and security experts to safeguard deliveries to clients.

The role emphasizes design checks, verification with vendors, and close cooperation with the Purchasing department, with a strong focus on safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• Five years’ experience in design/maintenance of complex IT/OT systems, preferably in ships/offshore/industrial installations.
• Extensive networking/IT systems knowledge and system hardening.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity standards and regulations (ISO 27001, IEC 62443).
• Experience with third-party vendors/subcontractors.
• Strong German and English written & oral skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop security deliverables: specifications, functional descriptions, schematics and security concepts.
• Engage with IT/OT security, emission security and physical security experts.
• Contribute to test/verification plans for security measures.
• Support design checks to meet Cybersecurity standards.
• Verify vendor/subcontractor technical performance.
• Analyze received offers with Purchasing.
