Job Overview
To succeed in this role, you should have thorough knowledge of supply chain management and an understanding of warehouse procedures, including storing goods, dispatching orders and tracking transportation vehicles. You should also be familiar with safety processes and legal regulations.
1. Transportation Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor end-to-end outbound transportation and warehouse operations across the entire supply chain.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs), including On-Time Delivery (OTD), customs clearance lead time, transit time, and inventory availability.
- Prepare regular operational reports and dashboards.
- Proactively identify and escalate potential risks such as shipment delays, customs issues, capacity shortages, and inventory shortages.
2. Coordination & Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as the central coordination point between customers, carriers, warehouses, customs brokers, and internal departments.
- Maintain close communication with transportation providers (e.g., DHL, Maersk and other logistics partners) to ensure smooth execution.
- Coordinate issue resolution, manage operational exceptions, and facilitate continuous process improvements.
3. Operational Analysis & Continuous Improvement
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for operational issues such as transportation delays, delivery failures, and service disruptions.
- Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) together with cross-functional teams.
- Identify opportunities to optimize transportation routes, operational processes, and overall supply chain efficiency.
- Review freight invoices and verify transportation costs.
- Support freight quotations and budgeting activities.
- Monitor logistics expenditures and ensure transportation costs remain within budget.
- Analyze transportation costs and recommend cost-effective logistics solutions.
- Evaluate carrier performance based on service quality, cost, and KPI achievement.
- Support carrier selection, performance reviews, and continuous supplier management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in transportation operations, Control Tower, freight forwarding, or supply chain management.
- Experience in international transportation (road, ocean, air, rail, or multimodal transport) is preferred.
- Knowledge of import/export processes and customs procedures is an advantage.
- Experience working with WMS, TMS, ERP, or transportation visibility platforms is preferred.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret operational and financial data.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced international environment.
- Fluent in English and Chinese (written and spoken); Dutch is considered an advantage.
