Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of 3D CAD and mechanical engineering principles.

As a Consultant MRI Mechanical Engineer, you will bring your mechanical engineering expertise to different R&D environments and projects related to MRI systems and medical imaging.Your projects may vary from developing and integrating individual mechanical components and subsystems to supporting larger system-level development programs, solving technical challenges, improving existing designs or contributing to the development of complete MRI systems.You will work across the mechanical development lifecycle, from translating system requirements into practical solutions through concept development, detailed design, prototyping, testing and integration.As a consultant, you are expected to quickly understand new technical environments, work effectively with different teams and take ownership of your topics with a high degree of independence. Over time, you will work with different clients and apply your MRI expertise to a variety of engineering challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support different clients and R&D projects involving MRI systems and medical imaging technology.
  • Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies and systems for MRI equipment.
  • Translate system and customer requirements into mechanical requirements and engineering solutions.
  • Perform mechanical concept development, calculations, analysis and detailed design.
  • Create and review 3D CAD models, drawings and technical specifications.
  • Develop mechanical solutions suitable for the demanding environment of MRI systems.
  • Support the development of prototypes, test setups and one-off or custom MRI equipment.
  • Perform mechanical integration, testing and troubleshooting.
  • Investigate mechanical issues, perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective solutions.
  • Work across interfaces between mechanical, electronics, RF, software and systems engineering.
  • Consider mechanical interfaces and interactions with MRI-specific subsystems and the overall system architecture.
  • Participate in design reviews and technical decision-making.
  • Identify mechanical risks and proactively contribute to mitigation strategies.
  • Contribute to verification and validation activities.
  • Adapt quickly to different clients, projects, technical environments and ways of working.
  • Take ownership of technical topics and proactively determine the actions, stakeholders and resources required to move them forward.
  • Create and maintain technical specifications, design documentation and test documentation.
  • Support system integration, commissioning and technical handover.
Your Profile
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Professional experience working with MRI systems or MRI-related technology — this is a must-have.
  • Hands‑on experience with mechanical engineering, development, integration or testing within MRI equipment or systems.
  • Strong experience in mechanical design and product development.
