Job summary

SIRE LIFE SCIENCES seeks a Computational Modeling Engineer to join the Innovation and Design team. You will apply physics-based modeling to support new medical device development, creating virtual prototypes and simulations for physical insights and reduced risk.

Ideal candidates hold a PhD in a related field with experience in solid mechanics/dynamics and familiarity with major simulation tools. This role focuses on image-guided therapy, diagnostics and patient monitoring within a health-tech

Qualifications

• PhD preferred in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field.
• Solid understanding of physics-based modeling of solid mechanics or dynamics.
• Experience translating simulation results into insights for engineering and R&D teams.
• Curious, innovative and analytical mindset; proactive and ownership-driven.
• Experience with ANSYS, Abaqus, OpenFOAM or COMSOL is advantageous.

In this role, you will apply your expertise in physics, mechanics, or computational modeling to support the development of new medical devices. Your work will focus on creating virtual prototypes and simulations to provide physical insights and predictive data, helping to streamline product development and reduce risk.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to R&D projects by developing and running advanced computational simulations.
• Develop, validate, and apply physics-based models to optimize design decisions.
• Strengthen the team’s expertise in computational (bio)physics.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest modeling techniques and simulation tools.
• Support innovation initiatives in image-guided therapy, diagnostics, patient monitoring, and personal care by translating application needs into suitable modeling strategies.

Requirements

• Preferably a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field, with experience in computational modeling.
