Job summary

The Social Hub in Groningen is hiring a Community Coordinator through Hosco. You will bring NextGen and Student programming to life, build relationships with students and local groups, and onboard new members throughout their journey.

You’ll organise events to foster connection and turn ideas into real moments. You’ll work closely with the Connector and the hub team, balancing evenings/weekends with daytime activity.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in community building, events, programming or similar people-focused role.
• Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple moving parts.
• Excellent communication and people skills, enjoy meeting new people.
• Creative mindset and ability to spot trends and ideas to engage people.
• Hands-on attitude and comfortable handling practical details behind events.
• Ability to work independently while staying connected with the Connector and hub team.
• Comfortable with admin, data and reporting, and fluency in English and the local language.

Responsibilities

• Bring NextGen and Student programming to life, from planning to execution of events.
• Build genuine relationships with students, NextGen participants and local groups.
• Welcome, onboard and activate new students and NextGen members.
• Organise events and activities to give people reasons to connect and stay.
• Spot opportunities to create more engagement and turn ideas into moments.
• Track attendance, feedback and engagement, sharing insights with the Connector.
• Collaborate with the hub team to ensure smooth delivery of community activities.
• Support day-to-day delivery of the hub's community programme.
