Hotelprofessionals - voco The Hague is seeking enthusiastic Commis Chefs to join a vibrant kitchen team in the heart of The Hague. Whether you want part-time shifts or a full-time commitment, this role offers hands-on learning, breakfast service, and a chance to grow under experienced chefs.

You will follow recipes, prep mise en place, keep the kitchen clean, and contribute to HACCP-compliant service. English required, Dutch a plus; EU work permit required.

• EU work permit required.
• Basic culinary training or currently studying hospitality/chef education.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay organized.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and presenting breakfast dishes.
• Help set up and maintain the breakfast buffet with the F&B team.
• Follow recipe cards and instructions from senior chefs to ensure consistency.
• Prep all ingredients and mise en place for service.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organized and running smoothly during service.
• Learn basic cooking tasks and adapt to new techniques from experienced chefs.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues to support kitchen operations.
• Use kitchen equipment safely and maintain cleanliness of tools and spaces.
• Work according to HACCP food safety procedures.
• Support lunch preparations for co-hosts when required.
• Be flexible and assist with ad-hoc tasks; teamwork is key.

• Support the kitchen team in preparing and presenting breakfast dishes.

• Assist with setting up and maintaining the breakfast buffet together with the F&B team.

• Follow recipe cards and instructions from senior chefs to prepare dishes consistently.

Did you bring everything?

• A passion for cooking and a willingness to learn and grow in the kitchen.

• EU work permit required; we do not offer housing.

• Basic culinary training (MBO or similar) or currently studying hospitality/chef education.

• A proactive attitude and strong attention to detail.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay organized under pressure.

• A team-player mindset with good communication skills.

• Enthusiasm for delivering great service and supporting your colleagues.

• Interest in food, ingredients, and flavor combinations.

• Basic multitasking and time management skills.

• Knowledge of English; Dutch is a plus.
