Job summary

HaskoningDHV invites MSc students to join a coastal engineering graduation internship in Gouda. You will perform 2D physical model tests on Xbloc toe stability, exploring how toe level and toe width influence hydraulic stability and comparing results with existing literature and empirical formulas.

The collaboration with Delta Marine Consultants provides industry-backed projects. Ideal candidates are enrolled Master’s students in Hydraulic or Coastal Engineering, able to spend weeks in Gouda and

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Master’s programme in Hydraulic Engineering, Coastal Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Able to spend multiple weeks in Gouda conducting the physical model tests.
• Able to work regularly from the offices in Delft and/or Amersfoort and/or Rotterdam.
• Must be enrolled at a Dutch university (WO) during the entire duration of the internship.

Responsibilities

• Conduct 2D physical model tests on toe stability of Xbloc armoured breakwaters.
• Investigate influence of toe level and toe width on hydraulic stability.
• Analyze results and compare with literature and empirical formulas.
