Job summary

Haskoning and Delta Marine Consultants offer a coastal engineering graduation internship focused on 2D physical model tests for Xbloc armoured slopes. You will investigate long wave periods' influence on roughness and overtopping, and compare results with literature.

The role blends theory with hands‑on testing, requires enrolled Master’s students in Hydraulic or Coastal Engineering, and offers mentorship, an internship allowance, and hybrid working from Delft/Amersfoort/Rotterdam offices.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Master’s programme in Hydraulic Engineering or Coastal Engineering.
• Able to spend multiple weeks in Gouda conducting the physical model tests.
• Able to work regularly from the offices in Delft and/or Amersfoort and/or Rotterdam.
• Must be enrolled at a Dutch university during the entire duration of the internship.

Responsibilities

• Conduct 2D physical model tests on Xbloc(Plus) armoured slopes using a wave flume.
• Investigate the influence of long wave periods on roughness and overtopping.
• Analyse results and compare with literature and empirical formulas.
