Job summary

The European Investment Bank (EIB) seeks a Climate Change Specialist to join the Policy Implementation Unit in the Sustainability and Climate Office at its Luxembourg headquarters. The role focuses on implementing climate risk policies, Paris alignment of counterparties and projects, and coordinating cross‑bank activities within the Projects Directorate.

You will work with climate experts across EIB, engage with external technical groups, and represent EIB in relevant policy discussions.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree or equivalent in engineering, economics or related field.
At least 5 years of relevant professional experience, including 2 years in climate change.
Strong Excel and data analytics skills for managing complex datasets.
Ability to use coding to process large datasets and automate workflows.
Knowledge of international climate policy and financial institutions would be an advantage.
Experience with greenhouse gas calculations (PCAF, GHG Protocol) is an advantage.
Experience coordinating multi-stakeholder projects.
Excellent knowledge of English and good command of French.

Responsibilities

Implement Paris Alignment framework across the Bank's climate policy context and risk framework.
Lead GHG accounting and reporting workstreams at project and portfolio levels.
Support climate risk scoring tools, stress testing and data procurement.
Develop external partnerships to advance Paris alignment with MDBs and NGFS.
