Power Group in the Netherlands seeks a Chief Commercial Officer to drive profitable growth across four business units and lead a team of about 15 sales and marketing professionals. The role sits at the heart of a scale-up with a clear market-facing mandate and close ties to the CEO and executive team.
You will shape and execute growth plans, build high-impact commercial models, and close strategic deals while optimizing services, software revenues, and fleet utilization to accelerate expansion
Location: Bodegraven / Stadskanaal / Hengelo, Netherlands
Company: Power Group
Reports to: CEO, Joep de Ruyter
Team: Member of the Management Team, Leads Commercial Team (~15 FTE)
Power Group’s mission is to accelerate the transition to an emission-free world. The company delivers innovative, battery-based power solutions and services – both tailor-made and off the shelf – and is recognized for its deep expertise in battery systems, including proprietary hardware and software components.
Its solutions are applied both on-grid and off-grid, powering construction sites, temporary housing, events, emergency situations, and enabling grid congestion relief and peak shaving, among many other applications.
Power Group serves a broad range of customers across automotive, maritime, construction, medical, and agricultural sectors, both directly and indirectly through rental companies and electrical contractors.
The company operates through four business units:
Power Group’s annual revenue is 30-40 mn EUR, realized by ~65 professionals across three locations: Bodegraven, Stadskanaal, and Hengelo.
Power Group is backed by private equity investment and plans to grow organically by 20-25% year-on-year, with targeted acquisitions on top. The market is expanding quickly, and Power Group is well placed to strengthen its leadership in key customer segments by consistently delivering high-quality solutions and services.
As Chief Commercial Officer, you will be responsible for driving the profitable growth of Power Group across all four business units. You will play a key role in refining and executing the company’s ambitious growth strategy, while leading a team of currently ~15 sales and marketing professionals to execute it, based on a close connection to the market.
In this scale-up phase and dynamic market, you will have ample room to shape commercial strategies that balance long term vision with a drive to deliver short-term results. Example activities within and across business units include:
While direction setting is a key priority in this role, the scale-up nature of the company implies that you will also be hands‑on involved in building long-term partnerships and closing key deals.
You will strengthen the commercial team by ensuring the right talent is in place, with clear responsibilities, sharp focus, and opportunities for growth and inspiration. By managing the pipeline, improving forecasting, and tracking performance, you will guide the organization to consistently meet and exceed its growth targets. At the same time, you will be involved in key trade-offs between Power Group’s technology specialization and scale on the one hand, and customer needs and commercial opportunities on the other.
As the commercial face of Power Group, you will represent the company externally and turn market opportunities into growth aligned with its mission. To succeed in this, you bring strong market awareness and the ability to spot opportunities. You have at least a basic technical understanding and, more importantly, a strong curiosity to learn. These qualities form the foundation to collaborate effectively with product and technical teams and to translate technical capabilities into customer value.
Acquisition in response to this vacancy is not appreciated. Any commercial terms will be rejected in advance and without exception.
