Job summary

ING is seeking a senior Business/Data Analyst to shape FRIDA data ingestion, modelling and reporting for Finance and Risk. You will translate complex regulatory needs into clear requirements and work with data engineers, modellers and product owners in an Agile context.

You will drive stakeholder alignment, refine requirements, and ensure delivery teams embed changes effectively while supporting test scenarios and data governance improvements.

  • Work closely with data engineers to clarify requirements, support solution design, review implementation choices and validate delivered data products.
  • Collaborate with data modellers to align business concepts, logical data models, mappings and definitions across Finance and Risk domains.
  • Support impact assessments for new or changed reporting requirements, including scope, dependencies and delivery implications.
  • Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to create shared understanding and drive decisions.
  • Contribute to change management by preparing communication, training input and adoption support for FRIDA capabilities.
  • Support testing and validation by defining test scenarios and coordinating resolution with delivery teams.
  • You build the bridge between business and IT.
  • Help improve FRIDA’s operating model, documentation and data governance practices.

Your Work Environment

  • We are developing FRIDA to support regulatory, financial and management reporting needs of Finance and Risk stakeholders.
  • You will work with data engineers, data modellers, product owners, reporting specialists and change leads to shape data ingestion, data consumption and reporting use cases
  • Your responsibilities include business analysis, data analysis, data mapping, impact assessment, requirement refinement, stakeholder alignment and supporting delivery teams during implementation and testing.
  • You will help make complex data and reporting topics understandable, create clarity on scope and priorities, and ensure that changes are embedded in the organisation.
  • This is a dynamic environment where regulatory expectations, data requirements continue to evolve.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Translate finance, risk and regulatory and other reporting needs into clear business requirements, data requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Perform data analysis to understand source data, data quality issues, business rules, lineage, transformations and reporting impacts.
  • Work closely with data engineers to clarify requirements, support solution design, review implementation choices and validate delivered data products.
  • Collaborate with data modellers to align business concepts, logical data models, mappings and definitions across Finance and Risk domains.

  • Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to create shared understanding, resolve open questions and drive decisions.
  • Contribute to change management by preparing communication, training input, user guidance and adoption support for new FRIDA capabilities.
  • Support testing and validation by defining test scenarios, analysing defects, explaining data outcomes and coordinating resolution with delivery teams.
  • You build the bridge between business and IT.
  • Help improve FRIDA’s operating model, documentation, data governance practices and ways of working across business and IT teams.

How to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in finance, economics, business administration, data management, information management or a related field.
  • 8–10 years of working experience in banking, preferably in finance, risk, regulatory reporting, data management or data platform delivery.
  • Strong business analysis skills, with the ability to structure requirements, define scope, manage dependencies and translate business needs into delivery-ready backlog items.
  • Strong data analysis skills, including profiling data, interpreting data models, understanding transformations and identifying data quality issues.
  • Experience working with data engineers, data modellers, product owners and reporting specialists in an Agile delivery environment.
  • Knowledge of finance and risk data, regulatory reporting processes and reporting frameworks such as FINREP, COREP, AnaCredit, ESG, Credit Risk Loan Tape or DGS is preferred.
  • Ability to explain complex data and reporting topics in a simple, structured and business-friendly way.
  • Experience with change management, stakeholder engagement, communication planning, adoption support or training preparation is a strong advantage.
  • Team player but also capable of working independently
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal, with excellent communication, facilitation and persuasion skills.
  • Pro-active, curious and comfortable working in a demanding, changing and cross-functional environment.
