ING in Amsterdam seeks an experienced data specialist to support ESG data collection, validation, and processing for regulatory reporting and sustainability initiatives across ING's global presence.
You will collaborate with Sustainability, Risk, Finance and Treasury to translate requirements into data solutions, ensuring data quality and governance, and delivering dashboards and data products using scripting and AI.

Join our Operational Data Collection & Calculation (ODCC) team and help deliver critical ESG reporting and analytics that support ING’s sustainability ambitions and appear in our regulatory disclosures and annual reporting.
As part of a global, highly collaborative team, you will work with colleagues across all locations where ING is present, contributing directly to key ESG programmes and strategic initiatives that influence decision-making across the bank.
Collecting, validating, and processing data required for regulatory ESG reporting and sustainability initiatives.
Collaborating with stakeholders from Sustainability, Risk, Finance, Treasury and other teams to understand requirements and translate them into data solutions.
Investigating, analysing, and prototyping calculation methodologies used in ESG reporting and monitoring.
Managing the end-to-end data lifecycle, including requirements gathering, documentation, controls, data quality checks, and operational procedures.
Analysing trends, variances, and data movements between reporting periods to identify risks, anomalies, and improvement opportunities.
Supporting the delivery of reports, dashboards, and data products with a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and traceability.
Contributing to the automation and simplification of manual processes through scripting, analytics, AI, and innovative technologies.
Supporting the transition from tactical solutions towards strategic data and reporting platforms.

A curious, analytical mind, and readiness to challenge established processes.
5 years for experience working in consulting, banking, sustainability or related field.
+3 years’ experience in data analysis, reporting, business analysis, or data management.
Strong, demonstratable SQL skills and the ability to analyse and manipulate large datasets. Please note, these skills will be tested during the interview process.
+3 years’ experience gathering and documenting business, functional, and data requirements.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+3 years’ experience in communication with (senior) business and technical stakeholders.
Experience working with data quality controls, reconciliations, and operational processes.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Experience with SAS. Please note, these skills will be tested during the interview process if you indicate experience with SAS.
Python programming skills. Please note, these skills will be tested during the interview process if you indicate experience with Python.
Proven experience applying AI, automation, or Large Language Models (LLMs) to improve business processes.
Hands on experience with credit and risk data.
Knowledge of ESG, sustainability, risk, finance, accounting, or regulatory reporting.
Experience working in an international and multidisciplinary environment.
