ING Bank NL is looking for an experienced and forward‑thinking Domain Architect (Finance & Risk, and Data Management). The Centre of Expertise (CoE) Architecture in Amsterdam is a dynamic environment for architects who can translate ING’s strategy and vision into coherent enterprise architectures and guide strategy execution across the bank.
As Domain Architect Finance & Risk, and Data Management, you will shape how financial data, risk insights, and business decisions come together into one coherent architecture. You will not just design systems — you will reshape how the bank thinks about data, control, and value.
You are part of the CoE Architects in Amsterdam. You collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, IT teams, and international colleagues.
You define and drive end-to-end architecture for your domain. You design secure, reliable, and scalable solutions, translating strategy into practical steps toward a clear target architecture in a complex environment.
You will use and build upon already existing architectural principles, standards and guidelines in your work.
A key focus is strengthening data as a strategic asset. You define data architecture, ensure data quality, lineage, and traceability, and align data models with reporting and regulatory needs. You improve data flows from source to reporting and embed clear data governance and ownership, reducing fragmentation across domains.
You work in close collaboration with the global Finance & Risk architecture team to ensure that local (NL) solutions align with the broader global strategy. A key challenge of the role is balancing local requirements with global architectural direction, including alignment with major global initiatives such as the ongoing development of FRIDA. In the Netherlands, you also contribute to initiatives like the Finance & Risk data product.
You play a central role in architecture governance by aligning stakeholders, documenting decisions, and ensuring solutions comply with agreed standards. You connect business, data, and technology to create coherent and future‑proof solutions.
You take ownership, balance long-term vision with delivery, contribute to the CoE Architects, and continuously improve how we work.
We hire people for their potential as well as their experience. Curiosity, ownership and continuous learning are key to success at ING. In return, we support your growth and enable you to have real impact.
