Job summary

DP World in Rotterdam seeks a Category Procurement Specialist – Industrial Packaging to drive procurement strategies across Europe. You will work with internal stakeholders, suppliers and cross-functional teams to source high-quality, cost-effective packaging solutions that support operational success.

You will build strong supplier partnerships, monitor market developments, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at cost efficiency, quality, sustainability, and supply

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement, sourcing, category management, or a related field.
• Knowledge of procurement practices, supplier relationship management, tendering processes, contract management, and commercial negotiations within a European context.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships, influence stakeholders, and work effectively across different functions, locations, and levels of an organization.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Professional proficiency in English and willingness to travel across Europe.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary procurement contact for the Industrial Packaging category across Europe, partnering with stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver effective procurement solutions.
• Implement and execute category strategies that support business objectives, cost optimization, supplier performance, and supply continuity.
• Build and manage strong supplier relationships, including contract management, commercial negotiations, performance reviews, and risk assessments.
• Monitor market trends, innovations, and supplier developments to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, increased value, and greater competitiveness.
• Lead sourcing and tendering activities, supporting supplier selection, contract implementation, and category development across the region.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence, analyze spending and market data, and deliver sustainable procurement outcomes.
• Engage with operational sites and suppliers to understand requirements, strengthen partnerships, and support long-term business success.
