Job summary

Dyson in Amsterdam is seeking a experienced Category Planner for Home Care to drive category strategy, demand planning, and supply performance across sites and markets.

You will lead cross-functional collaboration with Service, Sales and R&D, optimise stock, cost, and availability, and implement Lean/Six Sigma improvements to boost category efficiency and resilience. The maternity cover will require strong stakeholder engagement and a track record in global supply chains.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in supply chain, category management of FG or components.
• Strong analytical and commercial skills; proficient in Excel (pivot tables) and SAP/S4/EDI.
• Global context understanding of supply chain, procurement, demand planning.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver Category strategies aligned with targets for cost, quality, availability, and customer experience.
• Oversee demand forecasting, demand management and supply performance for the Category.
• Analyse category spends and identify opportunities for cost reduction and continuous improvement.
• Monitor and optimise stock levels across multiple sites, channels and markets; resolve supply challenges.
• Ensure accurate processing of supply chain transactions within SAP/S4 and EDI integrations.
• Lead risk management and contingency planning for supply continuity.

About the role

As our Supply Chain Category Planner for Home Care, you'll drive the strategy and execution for your category management, optimising supply chain performance, stakeholder partnerships, and value creation. Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain Operations Central, you’ll own risk mitigation, and process improvement for the Category portfolio. You'll collaborate cross-functionally and manage a range of significant external partners to deliver availability, cost-efficiency, and seamless customer support.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver Category strategies, aligning with business targets for cost, quality, availability, and customer experience.
• Oversee demand forecasting, demand management, and supply performance for your Category
• Analyse category spends, identify opportunities for cost reduction, and drive continuous improvement.
• Monitor and optimise stock levels for your category across multiple sites, channels and markets, as well as resolving supply challenges and minimising excess and obsolete inventory.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of supply chain transactions within SAP/S4 system data, and EDI integrations.
• Lead risk management efforts within the category, developing contingency plans to protect supply continuity and support business resilience.
• Track KPIs for category performance; report actionable insights to senior stakeholders and shape future strategy.
• Collaborate across teams (e.g. Service, Sales, R&D) to support new product launches, changes within the category range, and integration.
• Drive process improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent approaches to enhance category efficiency.

About you

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

• 5+ years' demonstrable experience in supply chain, category management of FG, components, or similar products.
• Strong analytical and commercial skills; confident using Excel (pivot tables, analytics) and supply chain systems (SAP/S4, EDI).
• Deep understanding of supply chain principles, procurement, demand planning, and external stakeholder management, ideally in a global context.
• Proven ability to deliver process improvements, cost savings, and category growth.
• Project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Outstanding communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with continuous improvement practices.
• Self-motivation, adaptability, and a proactive approach to solving problems and driving performance.
