Job summary

Velocity Electronics, a Jabil Company, seeks a Buyer in Amsterdam to oversee and expand the supplier network, partnering with the sales team to ensure on-time fulfillment of component requirements.

You will handle strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and end-to-end procurement activities to secure competitive pricing and quality products. Onsite role based in Amsterdam, NL with a focus on delivery excellence.

Qualifications

• A 4-year college degree is required.
• 2+ years of purchasing or relevant industry experience, preferably in semiconductor/electronics.
• Knowledge of complex ERP platforms, including SAP.

Responsibilities

• Procurement & Order Management: manage purchasing and expediting for timely delivery.
• Vendor Management & Development: maintain relationships and onboard new vendors.
• Sales Support & Sourcing Execution: assist sales with vendor evaluations and BOM support.
• Supplier Relationship Building: strengthen vendor partnerships to improve service levels.
• Purchase Order Administration: create and manage purchase orders and VRMAs.
• Performance & Goal Achievement: meet or exceed specified performance goals.
• Reporting & Documentation: provide procurement and vendor performance reports.
• Inbound Order Expediting: track and expedite inbound shipments to prevent delays.
• Accounting Coordination: verify payment terms and financial documentation with suppliers.

We are looking for a driven Buyer to oversee and expand Velocity's supplier network while partnering closely with our sales team to ensure full fulfillment of customer component requirements. This role is responsible for strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and procurement activities to secure competitive pricing, quality products, and on-time delivery.

What can you expect to do?

• Procurement & Order Management: Manage the purchasing process and oversee the expediting of materials from all suppliers to ensure timely delivery and supply continuity.
• Vendor Management & Development: Maintain strong supplier relationships while identifying, evaluating, and onboarding new vendors to support business growth.
• Sales Support & Sourcing Execution : Support the sales team by conducting vendor evaluations, sourcing components, reviewing datasheets, providing technical assistance, supporting BOM requirements, negotiating pricing, and expediting orders.
• Supplier Relationship Building: Continuously develop and strengthen vendor partnerships to improve service levels, pricing, and reliability.
• Purchase Order Administration: Create, update, and manage purchase orders and VRMAs accurately within company systems.
• Performance & Goal Achievement : Consistently meet or exceed performance goals established by management.
• Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and provide procurement and vendor performance reports as requested.
• Inbound Order Expediting: Proactively track and expedite inbound shipments to prevent delays and ensure on-time fulfillment.
• Accounting Coordination: Collaborate with the accounting team to verify payment terms, credit arrangements, and financial documentation with suppliers.

What is the experience and knowledge needed to be successful in this role?

• 4-year college degree.
• 2+ years of purchasing or relevant industry experience, preferably within the semiconductor/electronics industry.
• Knowledge of complex enterprise platforms including ERP such as SAP and Commodity.
