Job summary

Canpack Netherlands in Helmond is seeking a Buyer to ensure timely, cost-efficient procurement of materials, spare parts, indirect goods and services. You will manage end-to-end purchasing, document control, and support production continuity while aligning with global procurement standards and KPIs.

You will interact with suppliers, prepare bids, negotiate terms, create SAP purchase orders, monitor deliveries and optimize stock.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
• Experience in procurement or purchasing.
• Ability to analyze quotations and compare offers.
• Ability to manage multiple purchasing tasks and follow deliveries.
• Proficiency in SAP/S4 and purchasing tools.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of procurement processes, materials, spare parts, services, and MRO.
• Understanding of inventory and stock management principles.
• Knowledge of supplier performance, contracts and compliance requirements.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• High level of accuracy.
• Fluent in English and Dutch.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with suppliers to obtain prices, availability and delivery information.
• Request and compare quotations, bids, and terms.
• Negotiate pricing and purchasing conditions within approval limits.
• Create and process purchase requisitions and purchase orders in SAP.
• Ensure suppliers acknowledge orders and confirm delivery dates.
• Monitor delivery schedules and address delays.
• Verify delivery documents and receipts in SAP.
• Monitor inventory levels and reduce excess or obsolete stock.
• Resolve supplier performance issues related to quality or delivery.
• Prepare contracts and maintain purchasing records.
• Create procurement and cost reports to support KPIs.
• Collaborate with Production, Planning, Warehouse, Quality, Finance.
• Identify improvement opportunities and alternative suppliers or cost-saving options.

Position Overview

As a Buyer, you ensure a timely, cost-efficient, and compliant supply of materials, spare parts, indirect goods, and services. You manage purchasing processes end-to-end, maintain accurate documentation, and support warehouse and production continuity while contributing to global procurement standards and KPIs.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's (preferred but not required).
• Relevant experience in procurement or purchasing.
• Ability to analyze quotations, compare offers and support cost-efficient decisions.
• Ability to manage multiple purchasing tasks and follow up on deliveries in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/S4) and purchasing tools.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
• Knowledge of procurement processes and purchasing principles.
• Knowledge of materials, spare parts, services, and MRO categories.
• Understanding of inventory and stock management principles.
• Knowledge of supplier performance, contracts and compliance requirements.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
