Job summary

emerchantpay ltd is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our Amsterdam team. This Amsterdam-based role focuses on identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities across digital commerce and regulated payment environments.

You will own the full sales cycle from market analysis and prospecting through to negotiation, implementation, and go-live, working closely with Product, Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Implementation teams.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in payments, acquiring, PSP, fintech, or related financial services.
  • Strong understanding of card acquiring, online payment processing, and payment ecosystems.
  • Experience selling into digital commerce, subscription, gaming, crypto, FX, or similar online industries is highly preferred.
  • Proven track record in managing complex B2B sales cycles and closing enterprise deals.
  • Strong consultative selling approach with experience engaging senior decision makers.
  • Commercially driven with excellent negotiation and communication skills; able to work independently across international teams.
  • High integrity, professionalism, and strong reputation in the payments industry.
  • Fluent English required; Dutch language skills are a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a targeted business development strategy for the Dutch and European market.
  • Identify, qualify, and close new enterprise opportunities across digital commerce sectors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with merchants, platforms, and industry stakeholders.
  • Understand client payment challenges and design value-based solutions.
  • Develop ROI-driven proposals and commercial business cases.
  • Manage pipeline forecasting and opportunity tracking in Salesforce.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing merchant relationships (cross-sell / upsell).
  • Collaborate with Product, Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Implementation teams.
  • Represent emerchantpay at industry events and within partner networks.

To support our continued growth in the Netherlands, we are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our Amsterdam team.

This role focuses on identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities across digital commerce and regulated payment environments, including high risk other online industries.

The ideal candidate combines strong payments expertise with commercial acumen and understands how to build trusted, long-term relationships with merchants, platforms, and technology partners.

You will own the full sales cycle from market analysis and prospecting through to negotiation, implementation, and successful go-live.
