Job summary

Vopak in the Netherlands seeks a Business Development Manager for LNG to drive project-based investments, pursue growth opportunities, and manage strategic alliances. You will lead cross-functional teams, negotiate partnerships, oversee market research, and deliver quarterly LNG market updates while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of commercial LNG experience and knowledge of LNG infrastructure development.
• Proven track record in leading complex deal structures and negotiations.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with ability to influence at senior levels.
• Excellent presentation skills to communicate strategies and risks clearly.
• Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams in country and globally.
• Familiarity with global business context and local differences.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue LNG opportunities with internal stakeholders; forge strategic alliances; manage key relationships.
• Develop and present LNG storage and terminal opportunities to management with focus on quantitative benefits and risks.
• Develop and negotiate partnership and joint venture structures in LNG storage and terminal business.
• Negotiate and manage LNG storage and terminal contracts with customers and contractors; ensure alignment with objectives and compliance.
• Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, and suppliers to optimize logistics and project execution.
• Oversee market research and analysis of LNG landscape in growth markets and adapt strategies accordingly.
• Lead cross-functional teams to ensure timely project delivery while maintaining safety and quality.
• Provide a quarterly LNG market update report with short- and long-term outlook and proposed actions.

Your mission

As a Business Development Manager for LNG, you will, together with counterparts in relevant Business Units, identify and initiate project-based capital investments proposals and manage or participate in new business development projects (including greenfield and brownfield), mergers and acquisitions in order to support sustainable growth of the company.

What will you be doing?

• Identify and pursue, jointly with internal stakeholders in relevant Business Units, new business opportunities, forge strategic alliances as appropriate, and manage relationships with key industry stakeholders.
• Develop and present LNG storage and terminal business opportunities to Vopak management, focusing on quantitative benefits and project risks.
• Develop and negotiate partnership and joint venture structures within the LNG storage and terminal business.
• Negotiate and manage key LNG storage and terminal contracts with customers and potential contractors, collaborating with partners to ensure project alignment with organizational objectives and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

• Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, and suppliers to optimize logistics and ensure seamless project execution.
• Oversee market research and analysis to understand the LNG to gas landscape in growth markets and adapt strategies to meet market demand.
• Take the lead where required with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project delivery while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
• Provide a quarterly LNG market update report, including an updated short-term and long-term outlook for the LNG sector, and propose relevant strategies and actions.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, forge strategic alliances as appropriate, and manage relationships with key industry stakeholders.
• Support the development of local staff where required to move the project through execution to operations.

Does this sound like you?

• Over 10 years of commercial experience in the LNG industry, with a focus on origination, project development and execution.
• Extensive knowledge of LNG infrastructure development, key stakeholders or companies in the sector, logistics, and regulatory frameworks, either from LNG supply or LNG import projects.
• Proven record & experience ability in leading and managing complex deal structures, with strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Excellent presentation skill
• Demonstrated ability and flexibility to work well with multi disciplinary multi-disciplinary teams both in country and virtually globally
• Familiarity with the nuances of conducting business in a global context while respective local differences is a must.
