Business Development Manager – Agentic AI & Security
Netherlands
Fully remote, based in the Netherlands
We’re working with a small European startup building security infrastructure for AI agents. The technology is already being used within enterprise environments, now the business needs someone who can bring it to more organisations.
As the company’s first dedicated Business Development hire, you’ll work directly with the founders to shape the commercial strategy, open new conversations and turn interest into long-term client relationships.
What you’ll be doing
- Build the business development and go-to-market approach from the ground up
- Identify target markets, accounts and relevant decision-makers
- Create outbound campaigns across email, LinkedIn, events and other channels
- Generate, qualify and develop new business opportunities
- Build relationships with CISOs, CTOs, AI leaders and security teams
- Lead discovery conversations and coordinate technical demos with the founders
- Guide prospects through proof-of-value projects and commercial discussions
- Develop partnerships with consultancies, systems integrators and AI governance specialists
- Manage the CRM, pipeline and follow-up process
- Use market feedback to improve messaging and commercial strategy
What we’re looking for
- Around 5 or more years of B2B business development or enterprise sales experience
- A track record of generating new business, not only managing existing accounts
- Experience selling technical products or services into complex organisations
- Strong prospecting, campaign creation and personalised outreach skills
- Confidence communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- The ability to make a complex product clear and commercially relevant
- Experience managing longer sales cycles with multiple decision-makers
- A consultative and relationship-focused approach to sales
- Comfortable working independently and creating structure within an early-stage startup
- A relevant network within enterprise technology, AI or cybersecurity would be a strong advantage
Nice to have
- Experience within agentic AI, cybersecurity, developer tooling or AI governance
- Understanding of AI agents, LLM applications and their security risks
- Knowledge of regulated sectors such as finance, insurance or healthcare
- Familiarity with the EU AI Act, data privacy or enterprise security
Why consider it?
- Become the first commercial hire and influence how the business grows
- Work directly with experienced founders on a highly relevant technical product
- Shape the sales strategy, messaging, partnerships and future commercial team
- Take ownership of the full journey, from the first campaign to lasting client relationships
You don’t need to know every detail about agentic AI from day one, but you should be curious, commercially sharp and confident opening the right doors.
