Job summary

Practical is a growing Dutch accounting and advisory firm based in Amsterdam. As a Bookkeeper, you will leverage fully digital software (Yuki, Exact, FiscaalGemak, Nmbrs) to automate admin, freeing time to provide meaningful advice to entrepreneurs and build strong client relationships.

You translate financial data into actionable guidance, support VAT returns and annual statements, and contribute to clients’ growth with an entrepreneurial, people-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Education in Finance, Bookkeeping, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Accurate work with a customer-focused mindset and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Eager to continue developing skills in a forward-thinking company.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase and sales invoices and assist with VAT returns.

The Role

Because we use fully digital software (including Yuki, Exact, FiscaalGemak, and Nmbrs), much of our administrative work is automated. This gives you more time and freedom to provide meaningful advice to entrepreneurs and maintain personal relationships with clients. Do you want to do more than simply process numbers and make a real impact? As a Bookkeeper at Practical, you will be a valuable financial advisor and sparring partner for entrepreneurs. With your analytical mindset, you will identify opportunities, provide fresh insights, and proactively contribute ideas. You will help clients stay in control of their businesses and make informed decisions based on up-to-date financial information.

Your role goes beyond basic bookkeeping. You will translate financial data into clear, actionable advice and suggest improvements that make a real difference. You will play a central role in our clients’ financial processes, using modern digital tools to proactively manage their administration—from processing purchase and sales invoices to preparing VAT returns and assisting with annual financial statements.

Who are you?
