Job summary

Lonza Geleen in The Netherlands is recruiting a Biotech Associate to contribute to the manufacturing of advanced cell therapy products in a GMP cleanroom. This hands-on role emphasizes precision, teamwork, and a strong quality mindset to help bring therapies to patients.

You'll perform culture, expansion and harvesting steps, maintain rigorous documentation, and collaborate with QA/QC/MSAT teams. The position requires a degree in biotechnology or related field and willingness to work shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biotechnology or related field or completed lab training.
• Ideally 2 years in a GMP cleanroom environment.
• Strong attention to detail and quality mindset.
• Fluent English communication; good teamwork.
• Willingness to work in shifts including evenings/weekends; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform cell and tissue culture activities according to GMP procedures.
• Execute manufacturing steps such as media preparation, cell expansion and harvesting.
• Work in a cleanroom with aseptic techniques.
• Complete production documentation accurately and on time.
• Identify and report deviations to ensure compliance and product quality.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing team.
• Collaborate with QA, QC and MSAT teams to support efficient manufacturing operations.

• The full-time annual base pay for this position in The Netherlands is expected to range between €32.250 and €45.150. Initial salary placement within this range will be determined based on role-related factors such as experience, qualifications, and expected contribution.

What we are looking for

• Completed laboratory training, vocational education or a bachelor's degree in biotechnology, biology or a related field.
• Ideally 2 years of experience working in a GMP cleanroom environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset.
• Ability to follow procedures accurately and work in a structured manner.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
• Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Willingness to work in a shift pattern, including evenings and weekends. A valid driver's license is required due to limited public transport availability during shift hours.
