Job summary

RIVM's center for Immunology of Infectious Diseases and Vaccines (IIV) invites a bioinformatician to analyze large-scale immunological and multi-omic datasets, helping to understand immune protection against infectious agents and to inform pandemic preparedness.

You will develop and implement analysis pipelines for bulk and single-cell RNA sequencing, CITE-seq and TCR data, ensure reproducibility, visualize results for publications, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary data team.

Qualifications

• PhD in Bioinformatics, Systems Biology, Computational Biology or related field with publication record in immunology or infectious diseases.
• Advanced proficiency in R or Python to build reliable pipelines and manage large transcriptomic datasets.
• Experience with high-dimensional immunology datasets and data sharing/workflow practices.
• Ability to connect omics results with preclinical/clinical data and contribute to multidisciplinary projects.

Responsibilities

• Analyze multi-omic and high-dimensional immunological datasets from preclinical and clinical studies.
• Design and implement computational pipelines to address immune questions after infection or vaccination.
• Characterize immune cell populations and activation states and integrate transcriptomic and protein data.
• Contribute to publications by visualizing results and preparing figures for scientific journals.
• Collaborate with data scientists and bioinformaticians to share expertise and best practices.
