Job summary

Youwe is seeking a Billing Specialist to manage the end-to-end billing process—from contract details and hours to invoices, payments, and cash collection. You will coordinate with Finance, Sales, Customer Success and Delivery across multiple countries to ensure accurate invoicing and reliable financial administration.

In this role you will be a trusted contact for billing questions, drive month-end activities, and look for process improvements.

Qualifications

• Three+ years in billing, accounts receivable, or financial administration.
• A relevant HBO/WO degree and strong understanding of billing and contract administration.
• Strong Excel skills and comfort with financial data.
• Fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
• Accurate, organized, analytical, and proactive in work.
• Strong communication and ability to work independently and with others.

Responsibilities

• Manage billing process including contracts, hours, services, invoices and bank transactions.
• Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up with customers by phone and email.
• Answer questions about contracts, invoices and balances.

As our Billing Specialist, you manage the billing process from contract administration and invoice preparation to cash collection and customer communication. You ensure revenue is invoiced accurately, payments are received on time, and our financial administration remains reliable.

You will work closely with Finance, Sales, Customer Success, and Delivery teams across several countries. You will also become a trusted point of contact for billing and contract-related questions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the billing process, including contract information, hours, services, invoices, and bank transactions;
• Monitor outstanding invoices and proactively follow up with customers by phone and email;
• Answer customer questions about contracts, invoices, and outstanding balances;
• Work with Finance, Sales, Customer Success, and Delivery to ensure billing information is complete and accurate;
• Support month-end closing, prepare reports, and identify opportunities to improve processes;

Job requirements

• At least three years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, financial administration, or a similar role;
• A relevant degree at HBO/WO level and a good understanding of billing, collections, and contract administration;
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial data;
• Fluency in spoken and written Dutch and English;
• An accurate, organized, analytical, and proactive way of working;
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively;

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with an ERP system such as Workday or SAP;
• Experience in a project-based or agency environment.
