Job description

Bid Management Specialist – Central Eastern Europe

Location

Ideally, the role will be based in Delft, the Netherlands, where the full team is located. Candidates who prefer to be based in Germany may also be considered; however, in this case, a presence in Delft for the first 6–8 months will be required to support onboarding and close collaboration with the team.

About the role

In this role, you can contribute to the energy transition through exciting projects and framework agreements in transmission and distribution networks, the connection of wind and solar parks, and by supporting development initiatives that help maximize the utilization of existing networks.

Ideally, the person will be located in Delft, The Netherlands. There is also flexibility to be based in Germany and spend the first 8 months in Delft where the whole team is.

This is a versatile position in which you will:

  • Coordinate project requests (often in accordance with EU tender regulations) for high-voltage cable systems, from the design phase through to the establishment of a project contract. Your key focus is on reviewing tender documents, leading the interdisciplinary bid team, preparing cost estimates, supporting negotiations, and handing over contracts to Project Management. You are part of the commercial team responsible for delivering offers and work internally with various departments such as Sales, R&D, Project Management, Engineering, Installation, Diagnostics, Finance, Legal, Marketing, Production, and Logistics.

  • Manage and coordinate framework contracts for low- and medium-voltage cables. In this role, you act as a central point of contact between the customer, the Business Manager, and various internal departments to align and realize customer forecasts, agree on pricing and orders, and coordinate new tenders.

There are many development opportunities toward roles such as Key Account Management or Project Management, potentially in an international context.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensuring company and production qualifications during the pre-contract phase and informing the customer accordingly;
  • Reviewing customer requests, evaluating contractual conditions, and assessing the (execution-related) technical aspects (scope of work) of the offer;
  • Collaborating with colleagues to develop the offer and align it with the company portfolio, translating requirements into cost calculations, coordinating pricing with the Business Manager, and aligning delivery times with the internal organization;
  • Submitting questions to the customer on behalf of the bid team as part of the tender procedure;
  • Submitting the offer to the customer and following up on it in consultation with the Business Manager;
  • Preparing negotiations and presenting the offer;
  • Upon contract award, ensuring order processing and internal handover to the relevant departments;
  • Aligning forecasts with factories and monitoring progress;
  • Coordinating deliveries with the customer and the supply chain.
Knowledge and Experience
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a Commercial or Technical field;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both German and English;
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships and connect stakeholders;
  • Affinity with technology and projects, with an interest in the energy transition;
  • Knowledge of SAP, project management, and process improvement;
  • Preferably experience in a production and/or project environment and/or working within a matrix organization.
