Job summary

Albert Heijn is seeking a Backend Engineer to shape the technology powering its supply chain. You will build and operate Kotlin/Java microservices, Kafka, and DevOps practices that keep our 1300+ stores running efficiently.

Join a hybrid team at Albert Heijn with a hybrid office near Zaandam station. You’ll influence architecture, drive testing and security, and collaborate across Store Replenishment and Supply Chain Technology Platform to deliver scalable, impactful solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with Kotlin/Java and microservices.
• Proven experience with Kafka, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
• Strong CI/CD, test automation, and security practices.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale microservices in Kotlin/Java for supply chain operations.
• Design and deliver technical solutions aligned with architecture and business processes.
• Hands-on development, proofs of concept, and code quality assurance.
