Job summary

Michael Bailey Associates is assisting a major Dutch client in Randstad to hire a Senior Backend Engineer specializing in Kotlin/Java. You will shape backend services with clean, production-grade code and ownership of critical components.

You’ll work with Spring Boot on cloud platforms (Azure or GCP), manage SQL/NoSQL data, and run services in Kubernetes with CI/CD. Collaboration with engineers and stakeholders is key, and experience with AI-assisted development is a plus.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience in fast-moving environments.
• Strong hands-on Kotlin and/or Java (JVM) with Spring Boot.
• Solid cloud experience (Azure, GCP or similar).
• Deep understanding of craftsmanship, clean code, and design patterns.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Day-to-day Kubernetes and CI/CD in production.
