Job summary

Kyndryl is seeking an IT Platform Engineer to develop and implement robust, secure data platform features for the Enterprise Data Lake in a cloud-based environment. You will collaborate with product owners, architects, and security to ensure scalability, reliability, and strong DevOps practices, including CI/CD and automated testing with Pytest.

This role emphasizes ownership, mentoring teammates, and applying SOLID principles in Python and Azure technologies.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in object-oriented programming, analysis, and design (Python preferred).
• Proven expertise with Cloud services (using SDK, Terraform, Databricks – Azure preferred).
• Experience with Unity Catalog is a plus.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform) is a plus.
• Strong understanding of the incremental software development cycle, DevOps, and CI/CD.
• Application of SOLID principles and design patterns.
• Familiarity with writing layer tests/testing pyramid (Pytest is a plus).

Responsibilities

• Develop, and deliver robust, secure, and high-quality solutions in a cloud-based environment.
• Advocate and apply best practices in software engineering, including SOLID principles, design patterns, and domain-driven design (DDD).
• Partner with Product Owners, Architects, and IT stakeholders to align technical strategy with business objectives.
• Work with the engineering team in building and maintaining scalable data platforms in Azure.
• Implement DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines to accelerate delivery.
• Ensure code quality through automated testing frameworks (e.g., pytest, mocking).
• Support and mentor team members, fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement.
