Job summary

ViCentra B.V. in Utrecht is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and validation of automated production systems. You will collaborate with suppliers, run FAT/SAT, and ensure robust interfaces and safety compliance in a regulated MedTech environment.

You bring a degree in mechanical or automation engineering, 5+ years in high‑volume manufacturing, and hands‑on CAD review skills. Travel ~20% is expected as you help scale our Kaleido project and contribute to a future‑proof

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automation Engineering.
• 5+ years in industrial automation in high-volume manufacturing (medical devices, pharma).
• Direct mechanical design and analysis of high-speed automation equipment.
• Experience with nests, fixtures, grippers, tooling, feeding and transfer systems.
• CAD review of models, tolerances, and GD&T for manufacturability.

Responsibilities

• Author URS with mechanical performance criteria.
• Define interfaces between automated stations and transfer mechanisms.
• Review machine-builder designs for nests, fixtures, grippers, tooling.
• Specify machine safety systems per international standards.
• Conduct design reviews of mechanical designs.
• Review and approve GD&T drawings for manufacturability.
• Evaluate designs for manufacturability and automated assembly.
• Develop FAT/SAT protocols and Validation testing with CM.
• Establish preventive maintenance schedules based on wear and lubrication.
• Maintain machine performance dashboards (OEE, MTTR).
