Job summary

Lonza Oss in Oss, Netherlands, seeks an Associate Director for Business Development in ADC Licensing to lead out-licensing programs and partner with biotech and pharma companies globally.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Life Sciences or equivalent required.
  • 7–10 years experience in Life Science, CDMO, biotech or pharma.
  • Ability to navigate complex licensing discussions and present data clearly.
  • Strong relationship-building and commercial acumen.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel globally.
  • Autonomy and cross-functional collaboration capability.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and execute new partnering and out-licensing opportunities, including term sheets, analyses, negotiations, and definitive agreements.
  • Plan and execute outbound partnering campaigns and manage the global BD pipeline.
  • Maintain relationships with new and existing partners through effective communication.
  • Monitor market trends and competitive landscape to inform strategy.
  • Present Lonza Oss platforms to prospective partners and collaborators.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on development plans, due diligence, and negotiations.

Associate Director, Business Development, ADC Licensing

Location: Oss - Remote

The Associate Director, Business Development ADC Licensing is responsible for driving out-licensing and partnering activities for Lonza’s ADC technology platform. The role combines strategic business development, market analysis, and hands-on deal execution, including outreach, negotiations, due diligence, and contract finalization. The position works closely with senior stakeholders to advance commercial objectives and expand strategic partnerships.

The full-time annual base pay for this position in The Netherlands is expected to range between 95.250,- EUR and 133.350,- EUR.Initialsalary placement within this range will bedeterminedbased on role‑related factors such as experience, qualifications, and expected contribution.

Whatyouwilldo:
  • Identify, develop, and execute new partnering and out-licensing opportunities, including preparation and negotiation of term sheets, quantitative analyses, contract negotiations, and execution of definitive agreements.
  • Plan and execute comprehensive partnering outreach campaigns and actively manage and track the global business development pipeline.
  • Build, maintain, and further develop trusted relationships with new and existing partners through effective communication and cultural awareness.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and relevant companies and therapeutic areas to inform business development strategy.
  • Present and pitch Lonza Oss technology platforms to prospective partners and collaborators.
  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Commercial Development (ADS Licensing) and senior site and business leadership in the development and execution of business development plans, negotiations, and due diligence activities.
What we are looking for:
  • Master’s degree in the field of Life Sciences or equivalent
  • 7 - 10 years relevant work experience (Life Science, CDMO, Biotech, Pharma)
  • Ability to navigate complex licensing discussions and technical information.
  • Strong relationship building skills and commercial acumen.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical capabilities (qualitative & quantitative).
  • Ability to influence stakeholders thoughtfully using logic and supporting data.
  • Ability to represent ADS Licensing credibly with senior external stakeholders.
  • Comfort working autonomously and cross functionally.
  • Ability to travel globally for partner meetings and internal alignment.
  • Valid passport required for business travel.
