Job summary

Erasmus University Rotterdam invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Media and Communication. This 60/40 teaching/research profile contributes to BA and MA courses, and to innovative research in media and communication.

Expertise in media consumption, audience behaviour, brand communication or social media is highly valued, with knowledge of quantitative methods a plus. Based at the Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication, the role is 0.8–1 FTE at the Woudestein Campus.

Qualifications

• PhD in social sciences, preferably media & communication.
• Strong research track record with international publications.
• Expert knowledge in media/communication with focus areas such as media consumption, audience behaviour, brand communication and social media/digital marketing.
• Good command of quantitative/digital research methods is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to teaching at BA and MA levels.
• Conduct innovative research in media and communication.
• Develop and teach courses on media consumption, audience behaviour, brand communication and/or social media/digital marketing.
• Supervise junior researchers and PhD students.
