Job summary

Howden CPI Netherlands is seeking an ambitious finance professional to join as Assistant Financial Controller with a clear development path toward Financial Controller. Working closely with the General Manager and Group Finance, you will focus on financial control, reporting, forecasting, and business performance, becoming a trusted partner shaping strategic decisions across the organization.

• Qualified Accountant with ACA/ACCA/CIMA/RA/RC or equivalent required.
• Finalist status or QBE considered for senior roles.
• Experience in finance roles with a path to Controller.

Responsibilities

• Support and manage monthly reporting activities.
• Prepare management accounts and financial analysis.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
• Monitor performance and identify trends and risks.
• Support statutory reporting and audits and ensure controls.

As our Netherlands business continues to grow, we are looking for an ambitious finance professional to join us as an Assistant Financial Controller, with a clear development path towards a Financial Controller position.

This is an ideal opportunity for a qualified accountant, finalist, Senior Accountant or Assistant Controller looking to take the next step in their career.

Working closely with the General Manager and wider Group Finance team, you will initially focus on financial control, reporting, forecasting and business performance. As your knowledge of the business develops, you will become a trusted business partner, supporting strategic decision-making and helping shape the future direction of the business.

What will you do?

Initially (0-12 months):

• Support and manage monthly reporting activities
• Prepare management accounts and financial analysis
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
• Monitor business performance and identify key trends and risks
• Support statutory reporting and audit activities
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and governance requirements
• Work closely with operational and commercial teams to understand business performance
• Support the development of finance processes and systems
• Become a key financial partner to the General Manager
• Provide commercial and operational financial insight
• Support strategic decision-making and business planning
• Lead finance improvement initiatives
• Further develop leadership responsibilities within the finance function
