Job summary

Krijn Verwijs seeks an Assistant Controller to manage accurate financial administration, monthly closings, VAT returns, and audit support. You will prepare reports, review entries, and collaborate with the Financial Controller to improve processes and systems.

With a hands-on mentality and attention to detail, you will deliver timely, compliant figures and help shape a structured, productive finance team in a family-owned sea-products business that values flexibility and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Experience with digital, administrative, and financial systems.
• Ability to switch between tactical and operational levels.
• Contribute to month-end and year-end closings and reporting.
• Identify improvements and implement them in processes and workflows.
• Support audits and act as a point of contact for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare various reports and review entries.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Handle VAT returns and CBS reports.
• Provide documentation for audits and respond to auditor inquiries.
• Identify discrepancies and propose improvements in bookings, processes, and systems.
• Collaborate with the Financial Controller to optimize administration.
