Job summary

Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor to advance research and education on resilient critical infrastructures. You will lead courses in systems thinking, modelling and socio-technical challenges, supervise students, and develop interventions to strengthen resilience across energy, water, mobility and digital systems.

Qualifications

Master’s degree and PhD in relevant engineering field.
Strong publication record appropriate to career stage.
Ability to develop competitive research proposals and secure funding.
Enthusiasm for teaching and supervision at bachelor and master levels.
Excellent English, Dutch preferred but not required initially.

Responsibilities

Teach and coordinate courses in core programs.
Develop methods to analyze, model and design interventions to address infrastructure resilience.
Investigate socio-technical characteristics and cascading effects across vital societal functions.
Publish research and contribute to collaborations.
Acquire research funding and supervise PhD candidates and postdocs.
Supervise Bachelor’s and Master’s students and contribute to education programs.
Strengthen methodological expertise with mixed-methods approaches.
