Job summary

TTEP Netherlands B.V. is seeking an Asset Project Engineer to join the Middelburg team.

You will support Business Development with technical scopes, feasibility studies, and basic engineering across a diverse portfolio including CCGT, storage, renewables, electrical infrastructure and electrification concepts. Reporting to the Asset Process Performance Manager, you will collaborate daily with BD, Asset Management, Operations, Maintenance and external partners, providing reliable technical input

Qualifications

  • Minimum bachelor’s in engineering or related field; electrical engineering knowledge preferred.
  • IPMA/Prince2 project management training preferred.
  • At least 5 years in the process industry or energy/utilities; electrical engineering background preferred.
  • Knowledge of energy generation and CCGT, wind, solar, storage and electrification concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily technical support to Business Development: prepare scopes, validate assumptions, input for decisions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies: develop options, perform risk analyses, define technical conditions.
  • Prepare basic engineering documentation and define integration requirements.
  • Evaluate energy concepts across generation, infrastructure, storage and energy-conversion systems.
  • Direct external engineering: manage OEMs/EPCs, review deliverables, perform verification and validation.
  • Assess technical condition and lifecycle costs in due diligence.
  • Prepare CAPEX estimates and technical work packages for investment proposals.
  • Produce technical reports and advisory documents; present to relevant teams.
  • Collaborate across BD, AM, Operations, Maintenance and external partners; share knowledge.

THE ROLE

The Asset Management Department is responsible for the optimization of processes and installations, and the timely and reliable monitoring and reporting to internal and external stakeholders regarding the assets within TTEP.

The position of Asset Project Engineer is based at the headquarters in Middelburg and formally reporting to the Asset Process Performance Manager. Operationally, you work on a daily basis with Business Development, providing the technical foundation for new development and investment initiatives.

Your focus centers on the Feasibility and Basic Engineering phases across a diverse portfolio including flexible power generation (CCGT) and storage assets (BESS), renewables, electrical infrastructure (HV/MV), alternative fuels and electrification concepts.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Technical Support to Business Development: daily technical support- preparing technical scopes- validating assumptions- providing input for decision-making.
  • Feasibility Studies: Conducting feasibility studies- developing alternatives- performing risk analyses- defining technical conditions.
  • Basic Engineering & Concept Development: preparing basic engineering documentation- defining integration requirements- interface specifications- reviewing engineering studies.
  • Energy Assets & Infrastructure Development: evaluating technical feasibility- design options, integration aspects and safety considerations of new and existing energy concepts across generation, infrastructure, storage and thermal/ energy-conversion systems.
  • Management of external engineering: technical direction of OEMs/EPCs- reviewing deliverables- verification & validation.
  • Technical Due Diligence: assessing technical condition- integration aspects- analyzing lifecycle costs and risks.
  • Planning, CAPEX & Decision Information: preparing capex estimates- planning technical work packages- gathering technical input for investment proposals.
  • Reporting & Advisory: preparing technical reports, memos and advisory documents- presenting to Business Development, Asset Management and Management Team.
  • Professional & Collaborative Performance: Collaboration with BD, AM, Operations, Maintenance and external partners- knowledge sharing and transparency.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum bachelor’s in engineering, Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, Process Technology or a related field.
  • Project management training (IPMA/Prince2) is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the process industry or in an energy or utilities environment, with a preferred background in electrical engineering.
  • Knowledge and experience in energy generation (general) and a basic understanding of CCGT processes, wind, solar and hybrid systems.
  • Basic knowledge of electricity generation processes, including gas turbines, steam turbines and steam boilers.
  • Demonstrable work experience in the specified responsibilities and tasks.

WHAT WE HAVE TO OFFER

A challenging job within an ambitious organization that offers plenty of opportunities for growth. A salary between € 5.843,- and € 8.339,- gross a month on a full-time contract. Salary will depend on relevant knowledge and experience.
