Job summary

TTEP Netherlands is seeking an experienced Asset Engineering Manager to maximize long-term value, reliability, and performance of our generation assets. You will report to the COO and lead a team of engineers across multiple sites, driving asset management strategies and investment decisions that support operational excellence.

This role blends technical leadership with strategy, offering exposure to senior management and external partners.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in a relevant technical discipline, preferably within process engineering, power generation or asset management.
  • Proven experience in energy sector, gas-fired plants and CCGT environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership, including managing and developing technical teams.
  • Strong project and stakeholder management across Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and external partners.
  • Experience translating analyses into strategic recommendations and business improvements.
  • Understanding fleet-wide performance monitoring and asset optimization methodologies.
  • Experience supporting CAPEX investments, upgrade programs and commissioning.
  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities including root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Affinity with data-driven decision-making and digitalization in asset management.
  • Excellent English communication; Dutch/German a plus.

As our organization continues to grow and expand its activities in flexible power generation and energy solutions, we are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Asset Engineering Manager to strengthen our Asset Management team.

The Opportunity

As Asset Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for maximizing the long-term value, reliability and performance of our generation assets.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer (COO), you will lead a team of engineering professionals and work across multiple sites and disciplines. You will play a key role in shaping asset management strategies, driving continuous improvement initiatives and supporting investment decisions that contribute directly to operational excellence and business performance.

This position combines technical leadership with strategic decision-making and offers significant exposure to senior management and executive stakeholders.

Your Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of engineers while promoting collaboration across multiple locations.

  • Drive fleet-wide asset reliability, availability, flexibility and integrity improvements.

  • Develop and implement asset performance frameworks, KPI structures and long-term engineering strategies.

  • Analyze technical and operational performance data and translate insights into actionable improvement plans.

  • Lead strategic initiatives focused on plant upgrades, digitalization and operational excellence.

  • Support business planning through long-term asset strategy development and investment recommendations.

  • Evaluate and challenge CAPEX opportunities and technical business cases.

  • Drive continuous improvement through technical investigations, root cause analyses and lessons learned.

  • Build strong relationships with Operations, Maintenance, Procurement, Trading and external partners.

  • Act as a trusted technical advisor for management, project teams and key stakeholders.

Who Are We Looking For?
Knowledge & Experience

You bring:

  • At least 10 years of experience in a relevant technical discipline, preferably within process engineering, power generation or asset management.

  • Proven experience in the energy sector, ideally within gas-fired power plants and CCGT environments.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing, coaching and developing technical teams.

  • Strong project and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary initiatives across Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and external partners.

  • Experience translating technical analyses and performance insights into strategic recommendations and business improvement initiatives.

  • A solid understanding of fleet-wide performance monitoring, benchmarking and asset optimization methodologies.

  • Experience supporting CAPEX investments, upgrade programs, feasibility studies and commissioning activities.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement programs.

  • Affinity with data-driven decision-making, performance management systems and digitalization within asset management.

  • Excellent communication and reporting skills in English; Dutch and German are considered a plus.

  • Willingness to travel regularly between our operational sites.
