We’re looking for an Application Scientist to join our commercial team in Amsterdam.

The role

As our new Application Scientist, you’ll help translate our sustainable products into real-world applications. You combine technical expertise with commercial insight, and you’re able to bridge the gap between what happens in the lab and what customers need.

In this hands-on and versatile role, you’ll conduct research, lead product trials, and collaborate with external partners to explore and optimize how our products are used across industries. You’ll be part of the commercial team, working closely with R&D and external service providers to deliver practical, impactful results.

What will you do

• Conduct desk and lab-based application research
• Lead internal and external product and application trials
• Analyze results and translate insights into product opportunities.
• Manage external testing partners and research collaborations
• Represent ChainCraft as a technical expert at customer meetings and events
• Support product marketing with technical content and value propositions
• Maintain and organize product performance data and insights

What you bring

• A master’s degree in chemistry, biotechnology, materials science, or a related field
• 3–8 years of experience in R&D, innovation, technical sales, or marketing
• A strong mix of technical and commercial thinking
• Excellent analytical skills and clear communication in English
• Project management skills and the ability to prioritize effectively
• A hands-on, curious mindset and a proactive approach to solving challenges
• A team player who also thrives working independently
