Job summary

KONI is seeking an Application Engineer Railway to define the best technical solution for customers and lead the implementation to Start of Production. You will support sales with cost‑efficient technical options, serve as the main technical interface with customers, collect needs and coordinate with R&D to develop new products, drawings and tests, ensuring a smooth project handover.

You hold a Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years’ experience, with 3D SolidWorks and FEM knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of experience as an Application Engineer or similar.
• Knowledge of shock absorbers or hydraulics preferred.
• 3D SolidWorks proficiency.
• Knowledge of FEM calculations.
• Strong communication and willingness to travel.
• Experience in managing small projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review customer specifications for feasibility.
• Define best technical solution from specifications.
• Perform FEM calculations.
• Prepare drawings, 3D models, production drawings and testing plans.
• Coordinate with customers for approvals.
• Drive project progress from start to BOM release.
• Inform production plants ahead of SOP.
• Lead dampers homologation for new train projects.
• Ensure all deliverables are ready before SOP.
• Collaborate with R&D on new products.
