Job summary

CHANEL in Amsterdam seeks a General Accountant to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting for the Luxembourg entity and support operations across Benelux and Scandinavia. The role requires strong technical accounting, tax, and audit knowledge within a multi-entity, cross-border environment.

You will interact with French-speaking teams, adhere to French-language legislation, and collaborate with local finance teams, regional leadership, shared services, and global functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in accounting/finance in retail, FMCG, or luxury sector.
• Strong accounting principles, closing, reconciliations, reporting, and compliance.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with stakeholders.
• English and French fluency; Dutch a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and tax filings.
• Coordinate VAT and corporate income tax filings with internal and external advisers.
• Act as liaison for auditors, provide documentation, track findings.
• Maintain general ledger, reconciliations, and closing processes for the Luxembourg entity.
• Support Benelux and Scandinavian operations and cross-border projects.
