Job summary

CHANEL in Amsterdam is seeking a General Accountant to support the Luxembourg entity and provide cross-border accounting for Benelux and Scandinavia. You will handle monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, tax filings, and liaise with auditors to ensure compliance.

The role requires strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interact with multi-country teams, with English and French fluency and Dutch a plus; full-time onsite in Amsterdam.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting/finance, ideally in retail, FMCG or luxury in an international environment.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial closing, reconciliations, reporting & compliance.
• Excellent communication in English and French; Dutch a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reporting packages.
• Coordinate VAT and corporate income tax filings with tax specialists and external advisers.
• Serve as main contact for internal and external auditors; prepare supporting docs and address audit findings.
• Maintain general ledger, reconciliations, and close processes for Luxembourg entity; support payroll and HR interfaces.
• Support Benelux and Scandinavian entities with close activities, reporting, reconciliations, and issue resolution.
