Job summary

Nance is seeking a Mid-level AI Product Developer to join our tight-knit team. You’ll own user-facing features end-to-end, deciding what to build from thin specs and user feedback, prototyping quickly, shipping to production and measuring impact.

There’s no handoff; you’ll ship directly with the founding team. You’ll work on the Nance agent core, build evals, and shape the full stack (React frontend, Python backend, Google Cloud infra).

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of professional software engineering experience with customer-facing product work.
• Experience shipping LLM-powered features in production for real users.
• Strong full-stack experience; fundamentals matter more than stack specifics.
• Product sensibility: care about UX, speed and polish, and push back when something isn’t right.
• Comfortable without PM overhead: shape the problem, not just the solution.
• Daily user of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex or similar) and enthusiastic about them.
• Rigorous about correctness and data handling.
• Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus, not required.

Responsibilities

• Work on the core capabilities of the Nance agent: the agent harness, tools and supporting features like memory management.
• Build evals that tell us whether the agent behaves the way it should, and experiment with testing/observing agent behavior.
• Take product features from idea to shipped and adopted: shape the scope, build the full stack (React frontend, Python backend, Google Cloud infra), launch, instrument and iterate.
• Sweat the details: UX, speed and polish are part of the job.
• Use AI coding tools as a default part of your daily workflow, and help raise the bar for how the team uses them.
• Take on bigger, more ambiguous problems with the founding team close by.
