Job summary

Nance seeks a Mid-level AI Product Developer to join our small engineering team. You will own user-facing features end-to-end, from thin specs and direct user feedback, prototyping quickly, shipping to production, and measuring impact.

A large part of the product is the agent itself. You’ll ship improvements to its capabilities and build evaluation methods to quantify gains, working with the founding team in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of professional software engineering experience with meaningful time on customer-facing product work.
• You’ve built LLM-powered features, ideally in production for real users, and you can tell us how you knew they worked.
• Strong full-stack fundamentals matter more than knowing the exact stack.
• Product sensibility: you care about UX, speed and polish.
• Comfortable without PM overhead: you shape the problem, not just the solution.
• Daily user of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex or similar) and enthusiastic about them.
• Rigorous about correctness and data handling.
• Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus, not a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Work on the core capabilities of the Nance agent: the agent harness, tools and supporting features like memory management.
• Build evals that tell us whether the agent behaves the way it should, and experiment with new testing approaches.
• Take product features from idea to shipped and adopted: shape scope, build full stack (React frontend, Python backend, Google Cloud infra), launch and iterate.
• Sweat the details: UX, speed and polish are part of the job.
• Use AI coding tools daily and raise the bar for how the team uses them.
