Job summary

IOMETE is seeking an AI Software Engineer to join our team. You will build and maintain AI services that run inside customer environments, connecting AI tools and models to the lakehouse, diagnosing Spark applications, and building the framework and harness for agents.

The role emphasizes hands-on Kubernetes work, deployment orchestration with Helm, and close collaboration with external engineering teams to ensure successful adoption of our platform.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Deep understanding of LLM-based systems in production – tool calling, structured output, retrieval, evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain IOMETE's AI services, including MCP Server for AI Agents, the Model Gateway, SQL AI Functions, and lakehouse-specific agents and their harness.
• Extend the IOMETE lakehouse and platform to support more AI-powered features, e.g., Spark logs, query history and table metadata access.
• Hands-on with Kubernetes, including Helm charts that ship our AI services into each customer's deployment.
• Collaborate with external customer engineering teams to support integrations and troubleshooting.
• Participate in design discussions about agents, model access, evaluation, and architecture.
• Write tests, documentation and release notes; a feature is done when it ships with all of them.
• Review teammates' work and provide feedback.
