Lionsville in The Hague is seeking an AI & Optimisation Engineer to own the intelligence layer powering live operations across maritime, logistics and critical infrastructure. You will build semantic models and knowledge graphs to capture domain vocabularies and relationships, enabling fast, reliable decision making.

Qualifications

• Ownership of solutions with clear communication to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working agentically with AI, with pragmatic delivery.
• Proficiency in semantic modeling and knowledge graphs.
• Ability to design and reason about complex relationships.
• Strong software architecture capabilities for production code.
• Comfort with uncertainty and explaining model rationales.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites; English required, Dutch welcome.

Responsibilities

• Own the intelligence layer of platforms that recommend actions in live operations.
• Build and maintain the semantic layer: ontology, taxonomy, and relations.
• Model relationships and ensure fast traversability for live decision support.
• Design and implement constraint-based optimization and scheduling logic.
• Incorporate ML forecasts where appropriate and mix with rules where needed.
• Explain decisions, confidence, and model versioning to stakeholders.
