Job summary

Vattenfall is seeking an AI Engineer to help build enterprise-scale AI capabilities across Europe. You will work with software engineers, data scientists and stakeholders to deliver AI-powered solutions that empower colleagues to work smarter and faster on Azure.

The role focuses on production-grade AI services, API integrations, data onboarding and secure scalable architecture within a dynamic, diverse and flexible work environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or related discipline.
• Solid experience in software engineering, preferably with Python.
• Experience developing cloud-native applications and services.
• Understanding of machine learning concepts and modern AI technologies.
• Experience working with APIs, integrations and distributed systems.
• Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Structured problem solving and solution design.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing and maintaining production-grade AI applications on Microsoft Azure.
• Building RAG solutions, enterprise search and knowledge discovery platforms.
• Developing APIs and integrations with SharePoint, ServiceNow and HR systems.
• Onboarding enterprise data sources for AI consumption.
• Developing AI agents and automation to improve employee experiences.
• Contributing to AI architecture, governance and platform enablement across Vattenfall.

Artificial Intelligence is rapidly transforming how organizations operate. In Digital Platform Enablement, we are building enterprise-scale AI capabilities that help colleagues discover knowledge, automate processes and make better decisions every day.

As an AI Engineer, you will work alongside software engineers, architects, data specialists, business stakeholders and Microsoft experts to develop the next generation of AI-powered solutions. Your work will contribute directly to Vattenfall's digital transformation and support our ambition to create sustainable business value through technology.

Your Tasks And Responsibilities

• Designing, developing and maintaining production-grade AI applications and services running on Microsoft Azure
• Building Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions, enterprise search capabilities and intelligent knowledge discovery platforms
• Developing APIs and integrations connecting AI solutions with platforms such as SharePoint, ServiceNow, HR systems and internal data services
• Evaluating, connecting and onboarding enterprise data sources for AI consumption
• Developing AI agents and automation capabilities that simplify work and improve employee experiences
• Contributing to AI architecture, governance, platform enablement and best practices across Vattenfall
• Conducting proofs of concept and assess emerging AI technologies, frameworks and engineering approaches
• Collaborating closely with business stakeholders to translate opportunities into scalable and secure solutions
• Influencing future platform choices and strategic decisions regarding enterprise AI adoption

• A Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Machine Learning or a related discipline
• Solid experience in software engineering, preferably using Python
