Job summary

Pathways Consulting in Rotterdam/Amsterdam is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead large maritime transformation initiatives, from strategy through implementation and handover. You will drive cross‑functional change across business processes, systems, people and data to deliver real business value.

You will manage plans, budgets, risks and governance, lead stakeholder engagement, and mentor teams, with fluency in English and knowledge of PMS/EAM in maritime contexts being a plus.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience leading complex business transformation programs or large operational improvement initiatives.
  • Experience implementing PMS/EAM solutions in maritime or offshore industries is an advantage.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English; Dutch is a strong advantage.
  • Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2 or Agile are beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Lead business transformation and system implementations from initiation through operational handover.
  • Drive realization of the business case by aligning processes, systems, people and data.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and deliver measurable operational improvements.
  • Ensure successful organizational adoption of new processes and technology.
  • Lead end-to-end project delivery within time, scope, budget, quality and outcomes.
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, risks, dependencies and resources.
  • Establish governance, reporting structures and decision-making processes.
  • Facilitate steering committee meetings and executive reviews.
  • Manage risks, issues and escalations to maintain momentum.

As we continue our international growth, we are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead one of our large transformation projects within the maritime industry.

This is more than a traditional project management role. We are looking for someone who understands that successful transformation is achieved through the interaction between business processes, systems, people, and data. You will lead complex transformation initiatives from strategy through implementation and operational handover, ensuring that technology delivers real business outcomes.

Your responsibilities
  • Lead business transformation and system implementationprogramsfrom initiation through operational handover
  • Drive realization of the business case by aligning business processes, systems, people, and data
  • Identifyopportunities to improve ways of working, simplify processes, and deliver measurable operational improvements
  • Ensure successful organizational adoption of new processes and technology
  • Lead end-to-end project delivery, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, budget, quality expectations, and agreed business outcomes
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, risks, dependencies, and resources
  • Establish effective project governance, reporting structures, and decision‑making processes
  • Facilitate steering committee meetings, executive status reviews, workshops, and key project forums
  • Manage project risks, issues, and escalations whilemaintainingdelivery momentum
Stakeholder & Change Management
  • Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders across business and IT.
  • Lead cross‑functional teams and coordinate internal and external stakeholders
  • Align diverse stakeholder groups around a common transformation vision and roadmap
  • Ensure effective communication and stakeholder engagement throughout the transformation journey.
  • Contribute to the continuous development ofPathways’project delivery methodologies, transformation frameworks, and best practices
  • Share lessons learned and support the development of colleagues across the organization
Requirements
About you

We are looking for someone who combines strong project management capabilities with a genuine passion for business transformation.

You ideally bring:
  • 5+ years of experience leading complex business transformationprograms, ERP/EAM/PMS implementations, or large operational improvement initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects involving business processes, digital solutions, organizational change, and data
  • Experience implementing PMS/EAM solutions within the maritime or offshore industry is a strong advantage
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to engage stakeholders from executive management through to operational personnel
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong commercial understanding with experience managing project scope, budgets, risks, and business value realization
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on execution
  • Experience working in complex, multidisciplinary environments where collaboration across business and IT is essential
  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Office and modern project management tools
  • Knowledge of, or certification in, PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or similar project management methodologies is an advantage
  • Fluency in Englishisrequired. Dutch language skills are a strong advantage.
