Accounts Payable Specialist – Beyond Just AP

About the Organization

Our client is a leading financial organization with a strong presence both in the Netherlands and internationally. Based in the Randstad, their headquarters supports a range of business units with financial expertise. The team you'll join is responsible for a wide range of financial processes, from accounting to reporting and compliance.

Your Role

As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you’ll be in charge of the accurate and efficient management of the accounts payable process. But this role offers much more. You’ll play a key role in managing intercompany accounts, payroll journal entries, and VAT administration. You’ll collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure smooth processes and provide support during monthly and quarterly closings.

What You’ll Be Doing:

1. Managing and processing incoming and outgoing (intercompany) invoices.
2. Ensuring authorized payments and accurate bookkeeping.
3. Coordinating VAT administration and supporting tax obligations.
4. Managing intercompany accounts and posting payroll-related journal entries.
5. Assisting with month-end and quarter-end closings, including setting up provisions.
6. Acting as the point of contact for suppliers and internal stakeholders.
7. Preparing ad-hoc reports and addressing financial queries.

What We’re Looking For:

1. A completed bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
2. At least 3 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar financial role.
3. Fluent in Dutch and English (Native Dutch speaking is required).
4. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
5. Experience with financial software and advanced Excel skills.
6. A proactive mindset and the ability to work well across departments.
