PROBAT B.V. is seeking an Accounting Manager in Koog aan de Zaan, NL. You’ll ensure Dutch GAAP RJ closings, drive reporting accuracy, and act as a sparring partner for the Finance Manager. Opportunities exist to advance to Finance Team Lead in a global production environment.

You will lead month-/quarter-/year-end processes, coordinate audits, and push improvements in processes and data quality while coordinating with auditors, tax advisors, and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 6–10 years of experience in accounting in manufacturing/industrial settings.
• Strong closings, audits, and stakeholder management experience.
• Solid knowledge of Dutch GAAP (RJ); IFRS knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with HGB-compliant entries and year-end closings preferred.
• Experience in international (matrix) organizations.
• Proficient with ERP/reporting systems: Exact, Ridder, Lucanet; Power BI is a plus.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; German is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own cost accounting, including standard costing, allocations, cost centers.

• Coordinate internal and external audits and document audits.
• Drive improvements in financial processes and data quality.
• Lead financial systems and digitalization initiatives (Exact, Ridder, Lucanet, Power BI).

Your Responsibilities

As Accounting Manager, you are responsible for ensuring a solid, reliable, and future-proof financial foundation for PROBAT B.V. You safeguard the quality of accounting, reporting, and compliance, and act as an important sparring partner for the Finance Manager. You work closely with the current Finance Manager. This role offers opportunities for growth, both in terms of expertise and in seniority and leadership. You are a visible subject‑matter expert and enjoy sharing your knowledge with colleagues.

There may also be an opportunity in the future to take on the role of Finance Team Lead.

Your Tasks

• Ultimately responsible for month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closings in accordance with Dutch GAAP (RJ) and group guidelines
• Preparing, reviewing, and explaining management and group reports
• Ensuring consistent application of accounting principles across the organization
• Responsible for cost accounting, including standard costing, cost allocation, and cost center management
• Monitoring work in progress (WIP) and project administration
• Acting as a financial sparring partner for operations and project management
• Strengthening and maintaining internal controls and compliance (ICFR/SOX light)
• Coordinating and supporting internal and external audits
• Managing and reviewing audit‑ and compliance‑related documentation
• Initiating and implementing improvements in financial processes, reporting, and data quality
• Acting as the subject‑matter expert for financial systems (Exact, Ridder, Lucanet, Power BI) and digitalization within Finance

Your Profile

You thrive in a dynamic, international, and production‑oriented environment and bring the following:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (HBO+) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 6-10 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated seniority: experience with complex closings, audits, and stakeholder management
• Solid knowledge of Dutch GAAP (RJ); knowledge of IFRS is a plus
• Preferably experience with understanding and/or preparing HGB‑compliant entries and year‑end closings
• Experience within an international (matrix) organization
• Good knowledge of ERP and reporting systems such as Exact, Ridder, Lucanet, and preferably Power BI
• Excellent command of Dutch and English; German is a plus
