Job summary

Westcon-Comstor in the Netherlands seeks an Accountant Assistant to ensure accurate monthly reporting for the UK and NL regions, partnering with Shared Service Centers and local finance teams to support statutory compliance.

You will help maintain internal controls, drive process improvements, and collaborate across cross-border teams while embracing our Future Ready behaviours of tech fluency, continuous improvement, and accountability.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (or studying towards) (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
• Proven experience in regional or multi-country accounting roles.
• Experience with MS Office Suite (strong Excel skills), PowerBI a plus.
• Proficiency in Dutch and English.
• Ability to manage audits and maintain robust internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Execute accurate and timely month-end close for the European region.
• Prepare and review local Balance Sheet reconciliations and reviews.
• Ensure compliance with Group accounting policies and statutory requirements.
• Work closely with Shared Service Centers to ensure all local journal entries are completed.
• Serve as a point of contact for external auditors during audits.
• Support local finance teams across multiple countries to meet regional requirements.
• Maintain a strong internal control environment across all accounting activities.
• Identify and implement best practices in reporting, reconciliations, and controls.
• Contribute to finance process improvements and digital enablement initiatives.

Accountant Assistant - UK&NL ensures accurate and timely monthly reporting for the UK and Netherlands regions, maintaining a strong internal control environment and supporting statutory compliance. This role partners with Shared Service Centers and local finance teams to deliver high-quality financial outcomes while driving process improvements. Key Responsibilities

Financial Close & Reporting

Execute accurate and timely month-end close for the European region.

Prepare and review local Balance Sheet reconciliations and reviews.

Ensure compliance with Group accounting policies and statutory requirements.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

Work closely with Shared Service Centers to ensure all local journal entries are completed.

Serve as a point of contact for external auditors during audits.

Support local finance teams across multiple countries to meet regional requirements.

Process & Control Enhancement

Maintain a strong internal control environment across all accounting activities.

Identify and implement best practices in reporting, reconciliations, and controls.

Must-Have Skills & Experience

Qualified accountant (or studying towards) (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).

Proven experience in regional or multi-country accounting roles.

Experience with MS Office Suite (strong Excel skills), PowerBI a plus.

Strong English proficiency (written and verbal).

Proficiency in at least one local European language (Dutch preferred).

Ability to manage audits and maintain robust internal controls.

Nice-to-Have Skills & Experience

Experience with ERP systems and finance transformation projects.

Exposure to multinational finance environments.

Familiarity with internal control frameworks and compliance processes.

Education & Qualifications

Qualified Professional accounting qualification (or studying towards) (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Timely and accurate month-end close for the European region.

Compliance with statutory and tax requirements.

Zero material audit findings.

Successful implementation of process improvements.
